Music has always been second nature to rising Australian singer-songwriter CAM NACSON, who began singing at an early age. Then, building on his passion for music, Cam started piano lessons at nine… the same age he wrote his first song “Lonely”…and also won a talent quest that set him on his musical quest.
Through his teens Cam honed his music skills…piano, guitar, songwriting, composition & production…and, at 17, he began performing professionally at venues around Sydney.
With more than 90 original songs behind him, including five self-produced EPs…the last of which climbed to #13 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter Chart…Cam’s body of work delves into love, loss and what makes us all human…songs that have struck a chord with audiences both here and overseas.
In 2011 Cam toured the USA with his mentor-turned-mate, New York singer-songwriter, Ron Pope. He played almost 50 shows across the country…both as the opening act and as part of Ron’s tour band.
Cam also opened for Ron Pope during his inaugural Australian tour in November 2012…and will again for his encore tour in June 2014 performing at shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Firmly entrenched in the singer-songwriter camp (think Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, Glen Hansard, Josh Pyke & Pete Murray) Cam has reached a place where he can truly shine and tap into the raw passion and energy that makes his music so compelling…from upbeat acoustic guitar pop, to heart-rending piano-driven ballads.
Cam’s first commercial release “Crazy Kids” hit the airwaves mid-2012…with the single being picked up by MMM’s Radar Radio and the video clip featuring on the ABC’s RAGE. “Crazy Kids” earned Cam the title of #2 Indie Acoustic Artist of the Year in 2012 (from 3200+ entries worldwide) from IMR Magazine.
Following in Feb 2013 with “No Other Plan” (Single & Video) amid enthusiastic response, pushing Cam to #1 on Reverbnation’s Singer-Songwriter Chart. The track has recently been promoted in the US and has steadily climbed to be at #58 on the American Radio Activator Chart at May 2014.
